RareJob supports a drummer YOYOKA officially for her global success.

RareJob, Inc. (hereafter, “RareJob”), which helps people visualize and improve their skills as an “AI assessment company”, announced to be an official supporter of YOYOKA, a 12-year-old drummer from Hokkaido, Japan and has been attracting worldwide attention.

YOYOKA, a 12-year-old, a first grade junior high school student in Hokkaido, was featured in media around the world for her video of a cover performance of a British rock band’s song at the age of 8. The video went viral around the world with a total of more than 50 million views, attracting attention from many international artists. She is now a prodigious drummer who is known both in Japan and abroad.

YOYOKA has been playing music based in Hokkaido, but she will move to the United States, the home of rock music with her entire family in 2022 to succeed in the world as a top drummer and artist of the world. However, one of the major challenges in moving to the U.S. is an English language.
Though she cannot communicate with foreign people, her drum performance has made her way and been more than enough to convince her high-level performance skill and make people feel moved.

However, it is very important for YOYOKA to be able to speak English as well as Japanese and tell her thoughts by her own words to succeed as an artist writing lyrics and sing songs in the world. Therefore, she and her family decided to move to the US now at the age of 12, rather than waiting until she becomes an adult who can emigrate the US on her own.

RareJob has aimed to realize the world where everyone can unlock their potentials to be valued based on the group vision, “Chances for everyone, everywhere”. As we are very impressed by a big challenge by YOYOKA aiming to succeed globally with a great talent of music and her family to be a top artist, we decided to help them study English mainly as an official supporter. We believe that this initiative leads to the future that RareJob is aiming for.

About YOYOKA, a drummer (Yoyoka Soma)

Born in October 2009. She started playing drums naturally at the age of 1.5 years old under the influence of her parents who played music as a hobby. In 2018, her video at the age of 8 which is a cover performance of Led Zeppelin’s “Good Times Bad Times” was featured on NBC, Rolling Stone Magazine, Billboard in the US, BBC in the UK, and other media in the world. The video went viral around the world and has received a total of over 50 million views on various social media. She was chosen as one of the “100 Most Respected Japanese in the World” by Newsweek Japan and one of the “World’s Top 500 Drummers” by DRUMMERWORLD, a global drum information website when she was 8. At the end of 2021, she left a major Japanese music agency to be an independent artist in order to take on her challenge to the world. She appeared in TV commercials for Nike, Moncler and so on. In addition, she recorded 18 drum tracks for Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster” series and played together with Japanese and foreign artists. Comments from YOYOKA

I’m excited to study and take a challenge to the world with RareJob. I have connected with people all over the world through drumming, but now I believe that learning English will open up the world to me further. RareJob once featured that I played for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in their article and I had also taken a trial lesson before. As I talked to the company, I felt that I could relate to their goals and that they are a diligent company that I would like to work with!

Future prospects

YOYOKA has kept learning English eagerly for two years since she realized that she wanted to go abroad. We will provide YOYOKA with a wide range of support such as English lessons and consulting for learning to help her learn English more efficiently for the move to the United States.

From now on, we will collaborate on the theme of “Global” to realize YOYOKA’s mission to be as a drummer and an artist who can deliver positive vibes to make people cheerful and RareJob’s vision to realize the world where everyone can unlock their potentials to be valued.

We believe that YOYOKA’s future success in the world will aspire Japanese people who want to succeed globally as a role model. We encourage more people to look outside the country and take a challenge in the world by supporting YOYOKA and realize the world to unlock their potentials to be valued through the provision of services.
