PROGOS® – AI business speaking test – is provided for AIESEC in Japan, the organization to develop leadership for young people

The exam is used to screen online event participants, aiming for spreading the exam overseas in the future.

RareJob, Inc. (hereafter, “RareJob”), which utilizes human-related data to develop global talents announced that RareJob has provided the AI business English speaking test ” PROGOS®” for AIESEC in Japan (hereafter, “AIESEC”), the nonprofit organization.

Background of this “PROGOS®” Provision

AIESEC has arranged overseas internship programs and online international interactive events for students in Japan and overseas. Due to the nature of their business, they need to understand English speaking skills of participants and are looking for a way to measure and visualize English speaking skills of participants accurately without huge cost and effort.

The RareJob group has provided services such as a career matching to realize the right people in the right place and training to identify and improve lacked skills in order to get a desirable job which people want. “PROGOS®”, the AI English speaking test which measures English speaking skills with questions designed based on the international standard CEFR, achieved reasonable exam fees and prompt return of exam results by automated scoring with AI. “PROGOS®” has been introduced by 780 companies and educational institutions in total so far, and more than 1.2 million applications have been received.

As features of PROGOS® are highly recognized as a tool to meet AIESEC’s needs, and the exam is introduced to screen candidates to attend “global youth dialogue,” an online event for students from three countries.

Future Outlook

Utilizing PROGOS® in the screening process for overseas internship programs will be planned. In addition, the utilization of the exam will also be planned not only in Japan but also in other countries where other branches are located.
We aim to create opportunities to experience different cultures and support leadership developments for young people by the establishment of a pioneering utilization model of PROGOS®.

One of our goals is to help people get opportunities to play active roles globally by visualizing their skills. About “global youth dialogue”

The “global youth dialogue” organized by AIESEC is the 5-day online event mainly targeting for university students. Over 400 people in total from Japan, China, and Myanmar have been participated so far. Participants were paired with students in different countries and engaged in conversations in English based on a different topic changed every day. Even in the social situation that international travel is restricted due to COVID-19, this event provides an opportunity to make “connections” through direct interaction with students in different countries and to gain unexpected insights outside of a daily life.
